You have to admit that a lot of people hardly think about where ham or foie gras comes from. Nowadays, however, the public are now intent in familiarising themselves with livestock, the world of agriculture, and the food industry. What are some of the notable issues that the public are mostly concerned about?

Many activists complain about the unethical treatments of animals especially concerning how they are slaughtered. But, in reality, the farm has always been a suitable habitat for them. Although they are kept in barns or sheds and are surrounded by steel fences, they are better protected in these environments than anywhere else.

With the many diseases caused by animals, some people now shun the idea of eating meat and other agricultural products. But, why worry when there is a Clean Livestock Policy that is being imposed? Its aim is “to ensure a consistent approach to categorisation of animals presented for slaughter and to minimise the risk of food poisoning caused by bacteria”. - Food Standards Agency.

This refers to the use of living organisms and biological processes in the field of engineering, medicine, and technology. In relation to agriculture, it aids in the massive production of crops and the improvement of food's nutritional qualities, and texture. So, contrary to what activists believe, mixing science and livestock is not an aberration, but a development.
